WE ARE PEARSE PARTNERS

Founded in 2018, Pearse Partners has built a trusted network of clients and candidates across investment banking and alternative investment markets. Our growth has been driven by a clear set of values, consistent delivery, and a reputation earned through results.

While the firm has evolved significantly since its early days, our approach remains unchanged. We combine agility with rigour, and commercial insight with a people-first mindset, ensuring every mandate is handled with care, discretion, and precision.

HISTORY

June

2018

Sean Bourke founds Pearse Partners, after 7 years at Michael Page, the FTSE 250 recruitment firm. He names the company after his super-hero mum, taking her family name ‘Pearse’.

August

2018

New places, new faces. Pearse Partners moves into its first home, sharing office space with Rutherford Search.

December

2019

A little DIY never hurt anyone – especially in the name of business growth. Pearse Partners knocks down walls (literally and figuratively) to expand its office-floor space.

July

2021

Pearse Partners relocates to Metal Box Factory, outgrowing the old office space. Fortunately, it’s only across the road – a short distance for the office chairs, which in true Pearse Partners fashion the team wheel across themselves.

August

2021

Business booms. Processes evolve. New departments are born. For the first time, Pearse Partners divides into two distinct specialisms: Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity.

April

2022

Bigger. Better. Definitely slightly noisier. Pearse Partners doubles its office size, moving from a 1000 sq. ft to a 2000 sq. ft office space, within the Metal Box Factory.

May

2022

More results. More specialists. The new Pearse Partners Debt team begins operating. Hitting the ground running with big clients and impressive candidates.

October

2022

Pearse Partners continues to go from strength to strength. Forging new industry relationships, entering new geographies, and matching the best candidates with the right clients.

October

2022

We expand operations again and welcome the ESG team to Pearse Partners. This has allowed us to work with talented professionals in all areas of ESG, from influential leaders to push sustainable investment and corporate citizenship agendas, to analysts and reporting practitioners.

October

2022

Powered as part of Pearse Partners, Pearse Portfolio is born as a specialist search firm focussing exclusively on Portfolio and Senior Finance mandates across Private Equity and the Financial Services industry.

January

2023

Quite possibly our proudest moment to date, we secure our first official home! Next to the OXO Tower, right on the Thames, we are excited to invite clients and candidates to come and meet us!

January

2024

The year where growth became impossible to ignore. We doubled our headcount, and we doubled our revenue. You could feel the momentum of scale in the room, the work, and in our client outcomes.

August

2024

2024 was also the year we became more than a single identity. We unified our specialist strengths and officially formed the Pearse Group. A collective made up of three boutique brands, each focused on a distinct area of the financial services market: Pearse Partners, Pearse Portfolio and Rutherford Search.

February

2025

Month on month, we didn’t just maintain - we broke records. We consistently billed our biggest numbers ever, continuously resetting what “best ever” looked like.

August

2025

Pearse went truly global. We launched in the USA opening the door to a vast new market and a world of international opportunity. This move expands our reach, strengthens our client impact, and positions us to serve our partners across the globe with even greater depth and scale.

HOW WE DELIVER

Specialist Coverage

We operate exclusively across investment banking and private capital markets. Our sector focus spans M&A, leveraged finance, restructuring, private equity, private credit and infrastructure. This depth enables informed, technical dialogue with both clients and candidates, from Analyst through to Managing Director level.

Intelligence-Led Search

Our mandates are underpinned by rigorous market intelligence and continuous coverage of our sectors. We track platform growth, capital allocation, team build-outs and leadership moves across the UK, Europe and the United States.

Trusted Relationships

Our network is built through long-term engagement and consistent delivery. We work closely with investment banks, private capital platforms and senior professionals across career inflection points and strategic hiring decisions.

Methodical Process

We run disciplined, structured search processes designed to secure the right hire, not simply a quick placement. From market mapping through to completion, we combine sector expertise, clear communication and considered judgment to deliver outcomes in complex, high-stakes environments.
