We have witnessed the Infrastructure Investment market continue to evolve and with that evolution comes the talent driving it.
Our latest Infrastructure people moves researched by our Private Equity team, tracks hundreds of movements across Infrastructure Private Equity, Mid-market funds, and Pension Investors, showing where hiring momentum sits and how teams are scaling.
From our analysis, nearly half of all new Infrastructure hires originate from Investment Banking, reinforcing the industry’s reliance on candidates with strong modelling and transaction experience. The lateral moves between funds represent the second-largest source of talent, meaning over 80% of hires already have direct deal experience.
As expected, the market remains heavily execution driven with nearly three quarters of all hiring occurring at Analyst and Associate level. The trends demonstrate that funds are expanding teams to deploy capital and manage deal flow rather than restructuring leadership teams.
Despite the global nature of Infrastructure Investment, London remains the centre of gravity, accounting for the majority of talent movement across the European market and leading funds continue to compete for a highly concentrated pool of Investment professionals.
