Investor Relations People Moves

H1 2024 Overview

We have tracked 125 people moves and promotions in H1 2024 covering the Investor Relations and Private Credit Advisory industry.

We have identified that there is increased hiring from the Placement Agents and Private Funds Groups at the junior level as fundraising and secondaries advisory continues to improve.

Notably, diversity is still on the forefront of minds when hiring at a junior level with a relatively even split between male and female candidates at the Vice President level and below.

The Breakdown

Female hiring is frequently mentioned as a priority for organisations in the financial industry. For Director and MD female hiring to improve in the future, firstly, there needs to be a bigger focus on retention of women within the industry. The entry level (Analyst) is fairly even across gender splits and has stayed consistent across the last 2 years of our recorded data, but tends to drop after VP level. From conversations with female candidates, offering excellent compensation is not enough to keep females in the industry. Work-life balance, role responsibilities, progression and culture all rank higher in priorities than compensation.

Average length of employment

Pearse Partners analyse how long candidates stay employed in a company before changing jobs as an average. As expected, Analysts and Associates usually change jobs after two years of employment. Across all levels, the average length of employment is 4 years.

The data provided within the report can greatly impact companies when it comes to employee retention and hiring practices.
